2010 International Builders’ Show- January 19-22 in Las Vegas, NV The U.S. DOE's "Builders Challenge" program for builders and "Home Performance with Energy Star" program for remodelers are the key focus for the 2010 NextGen Home Experience® featured at the 2010 International Builders’ Show in Las Vegas. There is a growing interest among home buyers to get more from their home purchase in today’s market with the use of green friendly products and greater focus on energy efficiency. The next generation of American homes will also likely be smaller, resulting in more demand for well designed interior space, and the NextGen "Go House" by Champion will be an excellent example of what buyers will be looking for. Of course, it wouldn't be a NextGen Home, without some cool new building products making their debut for the first time and this year is no exception. The NextGen “Digital Lifestyles” Home was complete with the latest in CE home entertainment and home computer presentations. The “Ultimate Value Home” featured the ultimate value for today's buyer by incorporating four of the most sought after features integrated into one home. The NextGen “Ultimate Value” Home themes included, peace of mind from severe weather events, the latest in disaster resistant construction materials and engineering, green friendly products incorporated throughout the home, energy saving features which deliver much appreciated lowered energy bills, and digital home technology delivering practical benefits such as lowering energy costs, monitoring security and of course whole house entertainment solutions. Host Grant Goodeve, each week, followed the construction of the first Certified NextGen Home located in Seattle, WA. While it may not look like a space age home, this 3,500 square-foot, three bedroom home will essentially serve as a crystal ball, allowing viewers a glimpse into the future of sustainable home construction.
